Together We Can Achieve More

“Success isn’t about how fast you move, it’s about moving forward together.”

From Left: Zeenat Laher (Aud), Rene Engelbreght (Admin), Hardia Crous (Admin), Ilouise le Roux (SLT & Aud), Eugene le Roux (Family)

Our team stepped out of the practice and into an exciting adventure by participating in the Expedition.org Adventure Challenge in support of the Free State Residential Care Centre. The challenge wasn’t about who could run the fastest. Instead, it tested teamwork, communication, problem-solving and determination. Qualities that we strive to bring into our practice every day. Working together to solve riddles, complete challenges and reach each checkpoint reminded us that every great achievement starts with collaboration. Whether we’re helping a child hear their first sounds clearly, supporting a family through hearing loss, or working together behind the scenes, teamwork remains at the heart of everything we do. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support such a meaningful cause while creating wonderful memories together.

Here’s to many more adventures—both inside and outside the practice!

Making a Difference at Bultfontein Pre-Primary School

Early identification makes all the difference.

Our team recently visited Bultfontein Pre-Primary School to conduct hearing and speech-language screenings for the learners. These screenings help identify children who may benefit from further assessment before small challenges become bigger obstacles in the classroom.

Early intervention can improve:
Listening skills
Speech and language development
Learning readiness
Classroom participation
Confidence

Thank you to the staff and parents for welcoming us so warmly. We always enjoy working alongside schools to help children reach their full potential.

Audiology Takes Centre Stage

A new focus on hearing, connection and quality of life

We are excited to share an important new chapter in our practice: Audiology is taking centre stage. While our practice has always been committed to supporting communication and development and will continue to do so, we are placing a stronger focus on hearing health and audiology services. We believe that good hearing plays a vital role in how we connect, communicate and experience the world around us.

Putting your hearing health first

At our practice, we believe that hearing is about so much more than simply being able to hear sounds. Hearing connects us to the people we love, helps us participate in conversations, keeps us engaged at work and school, and allows us to enjoy the sounds that make life special. That is why we are placing an even greater focus on audiology and comprehensive hearing care.

Hearing Well, Living Fully

Your Hearing Matters More Than You Think

Hearing loss can happen gradually, and many people don’t realise how much their hearing has changed until it begins affecting their daily lives. You may find yourself asking people to repeat themselves, turning the television up, struggling to hear in restaurants, or finding conversations tiring. These can all be signs that it is time to have your hearing checked.

A professional hearing assessment is a simple, non-invasive process that allows us to understand your hearing and identify any areas of concern. Early identification means that we can provide the right advice and support before hearing difficulties begin to have a greater impact on your everyday life.

Finding the Right Hearing Solution

There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to hearing loss. Every person has different hearing needs, lifestyle requirements and preferences. Modern hearing technology has come a long way. Today’s hearing devices can be discreet, comfortable and highly personalised, helping people hear more naturally in the situations that matter most to them. Our goal is not simply to provide a hearing device — our goal is to help you communicate with confidence and reconnect with the sounds that matter to you.

Mev.

Mev. Meyer is gepas met `n Signia Styletto IX gehoorapparaat.

Auditory Rehabilitation Therapy for Children & Adults

“Hearing technology gives a patient access to sound, but learning to listen gives that sound its meaning.”

We are privileged to offer Auditory rehabilitation Therapy at our practice through our practice owner, Ilouise le Roux. She is one of only six therapists in South Africa who has qualified as a certified Auditory verbal therapist by the AG Bell Academy.

What is Auditory-Verbal Therapy?

Auditory-Verbal Therapy is a evidance based early intervention approach for infants, toddlers and young children with hearing loss and their families. Specific strategies is applied in order to promote the optimal acquisition of spoken language develeped primarly through listening. Listening becomes a major force in nuturing the childs personal, social, and academic life.

Hearing and Communication under one roof.

Ilouise’s unique combination of Audiology and Speech-Language Therapy allows her to look beyond simply asking, “Can you hear?” and consider, “Can you listen, understand and communicate?” From a child’s first steps into the world of sound to an adult reconnecting with conversations and everyday sounds, Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) and Aural rehabilitation helps turn access to sound into meaningful communication.

Celebrating Cornelia

“Once part of our team, always part of our story.”

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” — A.A. Milne
